Space Whales [FINISHED]

Postby zer0jon » Mon May 06, 2013 6:32 pm

I've had a story in my head for a bit which I could make fishing-related, and I've been wanting to make something with Twine. Also I like having deadlines. So this works out pretty well for me.
I don't have a title for the game yet, but it will concern space whales. You have been warned.

It does!

Although, I've started to consider hunting a giant dog fish in a submarine. Plenty of fish in the sea ;D

All right, this Twine game is officially started. I'm using Twee, and finding it super easy to work with so far.

I have my intro section pretty much written, and a basic idea for where it's going after that. I've never liked outlining things on paper, so I guess I'll just wing it and hope it all ties together!

I'm looking forward getting some writing practice, and seeing what comes out. I also still have to come up with a name for this thing.

Oh well, that's for a different day!

Day 3.

Act 1 is finished, Act 2 has begun. It's hard to really post progress updates on a text game, other than to say it's being made, and I feel like I'm on target to finish it on time.

I will say: Holy cow Twine games are amazing, if just as an excuse to write. I mean, this game has almost no basis in real life, but still stuff comes out when you're writing that's very therapeutic.

I would highly recommend at least trying to make a game in Twine once in your life. I'll be the last person to say my game is any good, but even if it's not it was totally worth it for the writing experience.

Good luck with your games!

I went into a writing frenzy tonight and finished the story.

So I'm pretty much done! I'm going to have people proofread it, and I should probably do some styling, but once that's in place I'll post the link here.

I don't really know how it measures up as a Twine game, but I'm pretty happy with it.
