It is intended. I like how the random wind and direction makes for a different experience each time. Sometimes if the wind is strong enough, its easier to just go with the flow. :mrgreen:

I didn't know birds turned into square boxes when they die! :P

The boat is just an obstacle?
Also, I feel you should give a little more air. Right now, it's a bit too difficult because we run out of air too easily.

That was cool. I thought the fisherman was going to shoot me :P

I've never heard of Stencyl before. Have you used it previously? Good product?

Now this is a fun game.

Same here, I'm using Chrome, and the html shows blank. But I can play it fine if I open the .swf directly. Seems like the object embed code inside the html isn't supported in Chrome.

You have:
Code: Select all
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" height="320" width="480">
<param name="SRC" value=" http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28554426/Bird%20Simulator.swf">
<embed src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28554426/Bird%20Simulator.swf" height="320" width="480"></object>

Compare with what Man Eats Fish uses:
Code: Select all
   <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
      data="ManEatsFish.swf"
      width="800" height="600">
      <param name="movie" value="ManEatsFish.swf" />
      <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"/>
      <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"/>
      <p>Man Eats Fish</p>
   </object>

So you could maybe try this:
Code: Select all
   <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
      data="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28554426/Bird%20Simulator.swf"
      width="320" height="480">
      <param name="movie" value="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28554426/Bird%20Simulator.swf" />
   </object>

Also, I feel you should give a little more air. Right now, it's a bit too difficult because we run out of air too easily.

Perhaps you can have it that he has a lot of air meter at the start (as well as the wind more manageable at the start), and the air gets lesser (and wind more harsh) after each stage completion. It would mean the number of fish is finite and getting all of them will get you to the next stage. A "next stage" would simply be the same thing just with harder parameters (air, wind, and perhaps number or frequency of boat appearances).

Thanks!
I do really like Stencyl, as I am more artist than programmer. It seems like a great tool for artists and beginner coders to get their feet wet in game development. I've now made two games in Stencyl and have learned alot, I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll have to play around with the air and wind mechanics and see if I can find something that I like better than the current arrangement.

This is a cool game, actually. I had no idea it's such a pain in the ass being a bird. Would be cool to be able to drop a big one on top of the fisherman.

I had to remove some sort of security warning to play it on chrome, might have something to do with it being on dropbox.

Nice! I enjoy the gameplay.

Rather than giving more air to the player, I think it would help if the player didn't need to look up at the top of the screen to know how much longer they could stay at the bottom. Maybe a blink warning that you're about to run out (since the monochrome thing is working well for you).
