Yeah it does seem a bit out of place. I could probably try and polish the art stuff for hours and hours but due to time constraints I had to move on and start working on coding, to try and get some kind of game done in 7 days. However I'll probably go back and tweak this stuff as I'm working on other stuff.

Day 2
I planned on actually working on gameplay stuff today but I ended up just adding stuff to the fish and chip shop screen (moving water, tides, day/night cycle). However I'm going to work on more gamey stuff for a little bit before I sleep.

Here's a demo of the animated screen:

And a screenshot for folks who do not wish to click:

It does not look amazing, there are a few annoying things (eg. there is no lighting change from day/night, no phases of the moon) but it is time to move on to programming fish.

I love the tide coming in and out with the day/night cycle. All looks very nice, can't wait to see some gameplay.

Thanks! I have a pretty solid design for all the gameplay in my brain, and I hope I have time to put it all together. I'm working a lot at my real job this week so I only have a couple of hours a night to work on stuff, but I may be able to get a good chunk done over the weekend. I'm excited to get some gameplay in and see how it plays.

Day 3
Not much to show, I worked on a bunch of the gameplay and UI but didn't make as much progress as I would have liked. I'm hoping to finish up the management part of the game tonight, and have the weekend to do the exploration part.

Day 4
Working on the fish management / chip shop part of the game. Here is a work in progress of the fish tank screen from which you can move fish around, choose to set them free, use them in your restaurant, or breed them:

Day 5
More UI work, I have the fish management basically done. Next is working on the screen where you see customers coming to your shop to buy fish and chips.
