Agogia: Voxel-based surreal runner

This is where the games and development logs go! :D

Agogia: Voxel-based surreal runner

Postby btxsqdr » Wed May 15, 2013 10:16 am

Hi guys,

fish, fish. This contest I'd like to try something different. I'm thinking about a voxel-based (due to my bad art skils) short surreal runner. Not a regular one with only jumping and coins but a runner with a, well, we'll see, at least some sort of a deeper approach or message. It's about friends, death, and time.

Main inspiration is Arizona Dream, where a fish (hey!) has a major role! ;) !

See attachment for simple runner game gameplay (more I will not tell yet!). Or so.

I've caught a cold, so I'm slow and sound like a bear. However, I time for additional artwork and gameplay implementations. See below.

Jeeez, your game looks utterly, utterly beautiful! I really dig the art style, and I'm intrigued as to what part those pretty deep themes'll be playing - and where the fish comes into it, too. Veeery interesting. :>

(I hope you get well soon! It'd be a shame if you had to drop out, especially with a game that looks this good! :O )

thanks, that's nice of you. i really hope it remains a slight common cold

yep, I'm definitely on agogia, i enjoy the development. about the fish: the idea is that you run after the fish (that little gray/silver zeppelin in the top right corner), so "fishing" in terms of "catching the fish", for a very special reason you'll see soon ;)
