So I've gone ahead and done a few assets for the game. All of the fish and predators are in greyscale so I can apply color dynamically. I'll be using Unity (free version) for this jam.
The idea is that instead of casting lures to catch fish you shoot the lures at them Space Invaders style. Each lure will have a different effect on impact.
I'd like the game to have an old timey arcade feel. And the pixel look is an aesthetic choice. Hopefully I'll have time to add in an upgrade system for the lures. The bigger the fish, the more cred you get. More cred = better lures.
BTW... don't catch space crabs.
