My design was intended as a thematically traditional JRPG where the battle is shaped by the player's fishing prowess. Potions, gear, and additional enemies float along, just a rod's cast away.
You can play the rough-and-ugly prototype . You can move left and right, bump into the blobs to do battle, and cast by first raising your rod up, then flinging it down. Casting down at the hook's apex will make it go further. Sorry, no preloader.
Frankly, there's a good chance I won't work on it much beyond today, but hey, I gotta be able to brag about getting in on the fishing jam. Good luck to everyone else, things are looking great.
